Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). She relocated to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five where she attended at the Dragon School. Emma chose to become an actor at age six. For several years she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. Emma's first appearance in a film was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It broke all records in beginning-day and weekend-opening sales and also was the highest-grossing production in 2001. Critics have praised both the film and performances by the three main young actors. The popular British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance "awesome. Emma's performance received nominations and earned her five awards afterward for the film.
