Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21, 1983. Maggie Grace is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Her parents had divorced and they moved together with their mother to Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first part as Rachel's Room's main character the online video show Rachel's Room in 2001. Her portrayal of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV film Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost TV show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal character for two seasons and was awarded an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. After leaving the show, Grace wanted to appear as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) as Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised her role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. In 2013, Grace appears in Californianation, the sixth season. She plays Faith who's both the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter and elder sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in films of her father as an adolescent. Together with her brother she appeared on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). The year 2002 saw her appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim in both of her roles as the main character in Secretary (2002) which is an erotic romance drama drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). The actress received a nomination from her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. The year 2009 was the time she was nominated as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mother as she appeared in Crazy Heart. In the following years, she appeared in dramas and comedies, including Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Other roles she has played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 Action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as her role as the Kindergarten Teacher. Gyllenhaal made her debut as a director and writer in 2021, with the psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
